Min Koide's personal work bench available!

If you are from the San Diego area and know your local woodworking history, the name Min Koide should sound very familiar.

Known for his exceptional woodturning, Min was a client and friend of ours from the first day we opened up shop until his passing in 2008.

This was his personal workbench from his Mount Soledad residence (La Jolla, CA) where his wood lathe and other tools were attached to (those are two Spalted Maple bowls he turned that were on display at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park).

It measures roughly 73" long x 23" wide x 36" high and looks to be a teak top with a mahogany base.

Hard to tell when he made it but we are guessing it's at least 35 or 40 years old.

Would also look amazing as a kitchen island.

Large Primavera (Blond Mahogany) Bowl Blanks!

Talking shop with Sam Maloof and master woodturner/toolmaker Jerry Glaser.

This picture was taken roughly 6 months before Sam passed away during one of our final trips up to his shop to deliver some slabs.

Along with legendary woodturner Bob Stocksdale, Sam and Jerry used to exhibit their work together at numerous major shows throughout the 1960s.

This month Sam would have been 100 years old and Jerry would have turned 96.

Surfacing a bunch of NEW Mexican Kingwood (Camatillo) for the online store/showroom, should be online later this week!
