Neat carvings by Mic
These two are out of Australian brown mallee burl but Mic has used just about everything here at our shop over the years- euc burl, cocobolo, bocote, etc.
Always amazing how he uses the natural movement in the wood to create some really unique pieces!
(Make sure to check out his booth at the design in wood exhibit at this years San Diego county fair!)

Bubinga Shadow Box by Cory Hubbard
Customer Cory Hubbard sent us a handful of pictures of his recently completed Bubinga Shadow Box.
From Cory's email-
"...The box's approximate dimensions are 44"x13"x5.5". I built a jig to cut the corners and inlaid some red oak for strength and some cosmetic enhancement. To finish it off, I installed some chrome hinges and flush mounted some 2lb cabinet magnets to the door. The drive shaft you see inside is a tail rotor drive shaft from a helicopter. The handles are climb handles from an air craft as well."

We remember Cory purchasing this gorgeous piece of 4/4 Bubinga lumber.
Bubinga is a dense exotic from West Africa that is easy to work and is available in large dimensions.
Very economically priced for an exotic, it is perfect for a wide range of projects.
We typically have a healthy supply of both 4/4 and 8/4 lumber in stock at all times but can also bring in larger quantities if needed (we are in the process of supplying 5,500 BF for a customer)

Need more than 50BF of stock?
Make sure to take advantage of our February Special!
10% off all orders of 50BF or more of exotic lumber (able to mix and match species as well)
Need even more material? (i.e. 300BF+)
Contact us directly if you are interested in purchasing larger quantities.
We are very good about giving competitive large volume prices and are able to supply a large assortment of species at all times.
Click on the following link to see some of the great exotic species we have to offer (remember to contact us if you do not see the species you are after. If the order is large enough we can usually bring it in specifically for you!)

Coolibah Burl Bass Guitar by Customer James Dellaneve
Customer James Dellaneve recently dropped by the shop to pick up some wood for his next project and also brought by this neat electric bass he constructed using some of our wood.
The body and headstock are out of a coolibah burl cap he purchase from us a while back.
Coolibah is tight grained burl we occasionally import from Australia along with other neat burl species such as Tasmanian Eucalyptus, Brown Mallee, Jarrah and Rose Myrtle.
We always have a healthy supply of burl material in assorted dimensions including the large caps pictured below. These species are a great choice for a variety of woodworking projects because of their figure, workability and low-cost compared to other high-end burls.

Let us know if have any questions, these things are pretty!
