Here's a little background on the slabs: "Widely considered the finest Oak in the world, this species is carefully harvested from sustainably managed forests in Bavaria, Germany. Only a limited number of Spessart Oak logs are cut every year and it is certified as a sustainable and renewable resource in accordance with FSC standards. Color and grain is very similar to old growth North American White Oak and is primarily used in the best European wine barrels, veneer, flooring/stair treads and fine furniture..."
