Cocobolo...Something???

Found this old picture laying around the shop. It didn't have a date on it or the name of the artist who made it. Worst of all it didn't even have a description of what it is. Mitch thinks its some kind of loom or maybe some elaborate easel. What ever it it is, he/she picked out some really nice cocobolo. Any ideas of what this might be?

Custom Cocobolo Guitar for customer Glenn Brown

Just recieved these pictures of an incredibly beautiful guitar made out of our cocobolo. If you ever wondered how cocobolo works on a guitar please see read the email below:

-Hi, my name is Glenn D. Brown and I purchased some cocobolo from your company that was used to build a custom guitar. I recently took delivery of the guitar and as expected, people are knocked out by the stunning visual quality of the cocobolo. I'm also pleased with the sonic quality of the wood as it comprises the neck and body of my guitar, which sounds as good as it looks! I would love for you to display photos of the guitar to your customers as a wonderful example of a project utilizing your excellent product. Here are some photos of the guitar that you may use as you see fit; I hope that you will decide to share them. The guitar was built by Neal Moser and his staff at Moser Custom Shop, Kagel Canyon, CA.

Thank you,

Glenn Brown

Cocobolo end tables by Wayne Silva

End table set made by our customer/past employee Wayne Silva. He used the same 2" natural edge cocobolo slabs, like the ones in the picture above. These slabs not only would look great as a single piece on say a coffee table, but as you can see they look great in other applications as well.

Ever wonder how we get our Cocobolo?

Selective cutting is designated by forestry officials and woods are removed by permit only

Trees are measured to calculate the highest yield per cut and to not waste these valuable tropical woods
Careful harvesting is practiced to not damage surrounding areas,

local young growth of trees

and to allow successful replanting of seedlings

Choice logs are gathered and prepared to be sent to our sawmill

Wood is again cut carefully to ensure the maximum yield, and quality milling is accomplished through learned skills and old but efficient equipment.

Woods is then selected, and prepared for the trip up to our warehouse in California
